GREATER NOIDA : The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has decided to conduct a feasibility study for setting up a 39km Metro 11,11( to provide connectivity to the upcoming international airport in Jewar.
A Metro link has b.n propos. betw.n Greater Noida’s Pari Chowk and the site of the proposed international airport, along the Yamuna Expressway. In 2014, the YEIDA had proposed a Metro link to connect urban and rural ar.s located along the Yamuna Expressway. In 2015, the authority had tri. to restart the project but the proposal was declared unfeasible.
“The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had, at that point in time, said the project was not feasible due to low population density along the expressway. The situation has changed now after work on Jewar international airport has been put on fast-track. Therefore, we have rop. In the DMRC to conduct a feasibility study for a link along the expressway, from Greater Noida’s Pari Chowk to the site of the airport,” Shailendra Bhatia, officer on special duty, YEIDA, said.
