Nand Gopal Gupta, the Civil Aviation Minister of Uttar Pradesh said that Jewar Airport will benefit many sectors and people of Uttar Pradesh West. The distance of 250 kms will be saved because earlier people used to travel to Lucknow Airport for their air journeys.
The upcoming Jewar Airport in Greater Noida, which was recently approved and it will be the second international airport in the NCR. According to the statement of the State Government of Uttar Pradesh, the development of proposed airport will begin at the end of the year. The state government has already received the principal approval for the project from the central government. Now, the central and state governments are working together for the Jewar Airport. According to the Civil Aviation Minister of Uttar Pradesh Nand Gupta said that this airport will benefit the people of Uttar Pradesh and NCR.
According to the report of PWC, the agency which prepared the techno economic feasibility report of the airport, the Jewar Airport will be able to handle ten crore passengers in 2050. The adjoining districts of the Uttar Pradesh, Agra and GautamBudh Nagar will be the main contributors in the airport. The PWC report will enable passengers to take flights from international destinations like London, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bangkok apart other domestic destinations.
The techno economical feasibility report, the airport can serve up to 37 domestic and 31 international destinations by 2050. Moreover the airport will be connected by two rail networks to New Delhi and according to the report of TOI, the dedicated RRTS corridor will be developed from New Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan
