Land acquisition for Jewar Airport is on the run which has the expected turnaround time of two months for the proposed airport of international infrastructure at Airport . The Ministry of Civil Aviation will supervise the whole process.
In the words of RN Choubey, the Secretary of Civil Aviation, the Government of Uttar Pradesh will start the acquisition of area will be done within a couple of months. During October, bids for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) will be invited.
He also expects that the award distribution will happen in the month of December. After that, a ceremony dedicated to the laying of the foundation will also be held in the same month. The State Government will spend 4000 crores on the acquisition of the land. Department of Civil Aviation of the state will invest Rs. 1,500 crore. The Noida Development Authority will also finance the same amount according to the statement released by the officials. On top of that, YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority) and the Greater Noida Authority will be investing further Rs. 500 crore respectively.
An extent of 1,441 hectares of land has been chalked for the Jewar Airport Project first phase. By the year 2022-23, the airport is estimated to become operational fully. Initially, it will have the capacity to handle 60 lakh numbers of passengers. A report published by TEFR (Technical Economic Feasibility Report) around one lakh of the opportunity of employment will be generated all thanks to the project of this mega-airport.
