UP Government Plan to Develop Noida, Greater Noida as Electronic Manufacturing Zone

Yogi Adityanath is planning to develop Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna expressway as an ideal destination for investment. The UP government plans to develop UP as an electronic manufacturing zone for better investment opportunities. The country specific industrial parks will be set up by which will be virtual homes away from homes for foreign companies.

Noida and Greater Noida enjoys the advantage of manufacturing hub for large number of skilled labor and another advantage is that it is counted as NCR. According to Saran, “India usually exports the software of USD 160 billion and Noida and Greater Noida itself enjoys the huge share of 6 percent.” 45 percent of mobile manufacturing in India is already done at Noida and Greater Noida. There are total 38 manufacturing units in India out of which 13 is in Noida. These units manufacture 50 percent or 11.25 crore handsets which are sold in India.

According to Saran, “there are 58 companies in Noida and Greater Noida which manufacture components and accessories like chargers, earphones, headphones etc”. The region is a home for major companies like Samsung, VIVO, OPPO and Intex. Looking at the favorable environment in UP, the companies who are planning to come here are also looking to export their products in neighboring countries. The mobile and electronic manufacturing is creating a complete atmosphere of setting up of SEZs in Noida.
